It was nice to stop by the tap room! I have been in to have a drink, but this time I ordered some food! BBQ wings & Burger with fries! I had an IPA as well! Our server was polite and was attended to our needs when necessary. The food was adequate pub food! I liked the chill after work atmosphere! I see more Happy Hours and dinners in my future!

Friendly staff, great service, huge portion sizes at great prices! The food came out hot and everything was delicious. I definitely needed to go boxes at great prices! The food came out hot and everything was delicious. I definitely needed to go boxes and a bag for my leftover goodies. I arrived around 5pm on a Saturday and was surprised by the indoor and outdoor size. Driving by, it appears to be small. However, there is ample seating inside and out. There were many families that dined that night and after a couple of hours the family crowd thinned out and more mature patrons came in for dinner and libations. I met 4 people at the door of another neighborhood restaurant and bar that happened to be closed and they told me about this hidden gem. I'm glad they did and I'll definitely return. I took 1 star off because the kitchen is upstairs, so I couldn't see it; however, I would still recommend you check it out! The main area and lavatories are very clean and welcoming.

It's good bar food for a great price. I got the shrimp Po Boy and it was huge for $14. Wife got the crab sandwich. That was a lot of food too. The have the optional truffle fries which were perfectly crispy. Normally I have to ask for them to crisp up my fries. We also got the beer and onion soup. My wife would've preferred hers hotter but it was perfect for me. When we first arrived there was only one server manning all the tables and the bars. He was doing and awesome job too. As always appreciate the people that bring you your $h!t. That's not an easy job. The place is a lot larger than I thought it was. Looks like they have a huge outdoor area I'd love to try.

Philly is a city of many small neighborhoods. Mount Airy/Chestnut Hill is one of few that offer an intimate small-town charm. Nestled next to Lincoln Drive, Mount Airy Tavern is a local spot that juggles the paradox of being a dive bar and family-style restaurant. Environment This restaurant is a nice embodiment of exposed brick and gentle conversations.I've only sat inside on one occasion and the service was prompt yet inviting. Food This is where the restaurant truly shines. Yes,they have a handsome selection of local beers but the food outshines them all. Typically, I grab the Cajun Shrimp Pasta(only for those that can handle and appreciate spice) but if you're on the hunt for a quick snack the Parmesan Fries are also delightful. THE SAUCE Without question, this is my favorite restaurant in the Chestnut Hill/Mount Airy area. I would recomened this place to anyone looking in need of of a restaurant for a modestly priced first date or somewhere to rest your work demons. Happy eating!

This place gets an easy 5 stars, and outstanding Mt. Airy institution. Very respectable draft beer selection, including a cask, okay number of vegetarian selections (check out the vegetarian Bahn Mi or the Hummus appetizer), more than reasonable serving sizes, very pleasant outdoor seating, and even during busy hours, the servers are so attentive. My deputy Yelper has given consistent 5 stars to the Streak Frites as well as the MATR Burger. The Fried Brussels Sprout appetizer is very good, but be forewarned - it's huge, so plan on sharing or skip your entree order. The Fish & Chips, Shrimp Po'Boy, and Crab Cake Sandwich - all very good, with fries or substitute the salad. Nice presentation, with pickles, etc. My only minor complaint is that the Veggie Burger is not house-made, so it seems a bit perfunctory. It's okay, but not a favorite. I can heartily recommend the brownie dessert, and the beignets are good. I recommend calling to reserve a table, especially if you want the outdoor seating.
